Nanjing is a board game that requires players to review the map of Nanjing in 1937. The setting is based on a true historical event - the Nanjing Massacre; an episode lasted six weeks starting from December 13, 1937. During this time, the Imperial Japanese army murdered an estimated number of 40,000 to over 300,000 Chinese civilians and combatants, perpetrated widespread rape and looting across the city.

Contemporary, there are still controversies concerning historical accuracy and recognition of the tragic incident itself. As such, this game attempts to leave the options for people with different points of view. However, by playing the game, the player not only allows to learn about the historical episode, but also stimulate their thoughts on the relationship between human, culture, and war.
