This video portrays the culture of "forced marriage" in China. “Forced marriage” is a popular means of single men and women being pressured by their parents to get married simply because they are in the age to do so. Most Chinese families see marriage as a family matter concerning the entire family, hence justifying their initiation to their sons or daughters' marriage.
Many new generations find themselves couldn't reject the notion of arranged “kindness” from their parents despite their unwillingness and resistance. Hence the mixed feeling of not knowing whether to laugh or to cry when they find themselves being placed in these circumstances. In light of this cultural phenomenon, I would like to create a scene of Chinese-style forced marriage in an abstract and exaggerated fashion, which leads the audience to contemplate the results of this specific cultural occurrence.
